Fast, Fun and a Blast to use!

Imagine 300 rounds of BBs flying at 430 fps, in single shot or semi-auto burst action. Imagine a compact air-gun capable of shooting a built in 30 round magazine in less than 10 seconds. The Umarex Steel Storm delivers hours of fun and can be utilized for basic pest control or even small game hunting. Although I wouldn't suggest hunting with this weapon, it can be deadly on small game if you really want to get into that.

I bought this airgun for simple plunking and all around target shooting, and so far it has managed to live up to my demands. From shooting aluminum cans to destroying paper target, this gun is great for taking a boring day and turning it into a blast.

The gun is thin and sleek, with a cool mix of top and bottom picatinny rails for mounting various sights or gadgets. I took my halo sight off of my AR-15 and attached it to the steel storm for some fun for a day.

Worked great for me and my sons shooting cans off of the back porch. We enjoyed blowing away soda cans for hours without any problems. We blew through about 2000 rounds of BBs, and maybe 20 CO2s. We had a ton of fun and shot up enough cans to make a recycling plant jealous, all without any misfires or jams.

In auto mode, or 6 shot burst mode, this automatic BB gun is loud and jumps in your hand. I like the 300 reservoir and 30 round built in magazine. The double CO2 magazine is simple to use, and allows for a relatively easy swap out of used cartridges. I noticed you burn up a ton of CO2 in burst mode, but in single shot you can burn through about half of the 300 BBs before needing to change the CO2.

As far as hunting, I'm sure this gun could be used for small game like squirrels, small birds, or pest animals like rats or mice. Anything larger, I don't think it would be humane to use. Although you do get 430 FPS on a fresh full charge and on single shot, accuracy is a little off.

 I wouldn't recommend this gun for hunting basically because of the smooth bore and rather hard to aim handling. That said, if you have pest issues, taking a few shots on burst mode could be fun I guess.

Basically, the Umarex Steel Storm is a fun and cool automatic airgun. The design is rather decent and as far as blowing away targets, it packs a heck of a punch. Well worth the money for a serious boredom killer. I think this gun would be a great addition for any airgun user looking for something fun and different.
